Velocity Sports Ltd recently handed over an FIH certified hockey pitch to a delighted Vyners School in Uxbridge.
The works involved the design and construction of a new state of the art hockey pitch which can also be used for football, netball and tennis.
The project involved stripping and levelling the existing school field, stabilising the sub soil, installation of a SUDS compliant drainage system and the importation of a free draining granular stone sub base.
This new base was then surfaced with a 15mm wet pour rubber crumb shockpad and 20mm pile texturised monofilament sand dressed artificial hockey surface.
The scheme also involved the installation of a new 3 and 4.5m high twinbar super rebound perimeter fencing system, hard and soft landscaping and equipment assembly.
The improvements were funded by Hillingdon Borough Council as the first phase of a wider redevelopment of the school site.
The school were understandably delighted with their new asset and it was handed over ready for play in early summer 2018.
