The summer of 2024 saw Redbridge FC invest in a high quality 3G pitch at the Oakside Stadium in Ilford.
The step 4 club engaged specialist firm Velocity Sports to upgrade their existing natural grass stadium pitch to a competition standard 3G artificial surface which would enable them to play first team matches as well as support training and community usage.
The project was delivered as a turnkey solution with Velocity providing a design and build service including undertaking initial surveys, developing the design as well constructing and maintaining the new facility.
The new pitch incorporated an engineered macadam base which helps promote longevity of tolerances and consistency of drainage, two key aspects of a successful all weather pitch sub base.
The club chose a surface which consisted of a dense, high quality monofilament yarn from LANO which provides an ideal solution for competition standard matches, training and community use.
The site works were completed in only 9 weeks and the field is certified to FIFA Quality standards.
