The summer of 2024 saw Velocity Sports carry out the refurbishment of a 14-year-old 3G pitch at The Lenham School, Maidstone.
The client wanted a premium football surface to cater for its local bookings and school usage and following a successful 14 years with a TigerTurf grass, the latest TigerTurf Premier Pro surface was selected.
Through a combination of experienced planning, considered removal technique and careful workmanship, the original shockpad pad was saved and re-used (saving the client over £40,000) and providing important safety and performance benefits, over which the high quality 50mm 3G was installed.
The project involved:
- Removal and recycling of the old 40mm TigerTurf Challenger carpet.
- Testing and remedial work to existing in-situ pad
- Installation of new, 50mm TigerTurf Premier Pro 3G surface
- Testing to FA pitch register
