After a lengthy planning and design process the Forest School in Horsham can now boast a state-of-the-art 3rd Generation World Rugby and FIFA Quality compliant all-weather pitch.
The pitch is located on an underutilised area of the school playing field that lies within close proximity to residential property and so the pitch was designed to ensure all statutory planning legislation was adhered to.
The scheme was designed and managed by specialist firm Atkins Realis, with assistance from Surfacing Standards Ltd both working on behalf of West Sussex County Council.
To ensure planning compliance it was essential that the project was constructed in line with the approved plans.
Velocity’s experience and in house testing procedures came to the fore, coupled with regular surveying to ensure that every stage was delivered in line with the design team and client’s expectations.
The result was a first class fenced and floodlight artificial grass training space, certified to the highest governing body standards, that can be used by the school and local community for years to come.
