In early summer 2021 Surrey University invested significantly in the refurbishment of their existing 3G surface at the renowned Surrey Sports Park in Guildford.
The project consisted of the refurbishment of the existing 3G pitch to provide a FIFA and World Rugby compliant pitch.
The old surface was removed and recycled in line with the latest legislations, minor repairs were carried out to the underlying tarmacadam base before a new 20mm wet pour rubber shockpad was laid insitu.
The new ‘top of the range’ surface from leading manufacturers Polytan was then installed onto the pad before being tested to the very latest FIFA and World Rugby standards.
Working direct for the University, Velocity were responsible for undertaking the entire refurbishment process and completed the project in just under 6 weeks.
