University of Reading – Velocity Sports

University of Reading Velocity and UoR serve up exceptional new tennis facility

down

The University of Reading is now home to Reading’s largest tennis facility, following the completion of the £850,000 TennisPark.

Located at Whiteknights campus, students, staff and the local community can choose from a total of eight courts to play on, including three brand new courts covered by a weatherproof dome.

The works comprised of refurbishing five external courts including provision of a new floodlighting system as well as the construction of a new air supported dome which covers three new indoor courts.

The indoor courts have their own floodlighting system and thanks to a heating system, can be used all year round.

The project also included perimeter security fencing as well as associated hard and soft landscaping.

The project was completed in 10 weeks over the summer of 2017 and was ready for use upon start of the new academic year.

The project, co funded by the LTA was very successful and was recently certified to the very stringent ITF standards.
