The summer of 2024 saw Velocity Sports team up once again with the Mike Gooley Trailfinders Charity, Trailfinders Sports Club and Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club.
This time the project was to replace the existing 3G stadium pitch which had been installed 10 years previously.
After some heavy usage from the professional team and rugby league side London Broncos the club felt it was time for a change as they look to fulfil their burgeoning ambitions on and off the field.
This partnership, which has spanned over 10 years, is a unique one in our industry as the club is always looking to deliver the best possible user experience and future proof their facilities against an ever-changing landscape.
On this occasion the club researched various options on both the surface and infill materials, aiming to reutilise their existing BROCK performance base and provide a surface which was as close to natural grass as possible.
After a trip to the US the club decided upon the Woven dual fibre Ironturf from Greenfields coupled with a BrockFILL natural infill.
The project which also included some perimeter pathways and new spectator rail fencing was completed in late August 2024.
The result? The highest specification artificial grass rugby field in the country which is already receiving exceptional player feedback and will undoubtedly be something that other clubs follow suit with.
