St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School 3G Training Pitch

In late 2019 Velocity developed a new 3G training pitch for St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School who are part of the Xavier Education Trust.

The project was overseen by local consultants DK Group who had steered the scheme through planning and to outline design stage.

Velocity Sports Ltd won a competitive tender process and developed the design to construction stage, commencing works on site in October with the aim of delivering the project for use in January.

The scope of works included earthworks, drainage, a fully engineered base, high level perimeter fencing, LED floodlighting, landscaping and a World Rugby and FIFA compliant surfacing system.

The project was particularly challenging in terms of logistics with the main traffic route of the site conflicting with the drop off and collection point for the school, which remained opened throughout the build.

Thanks to a carefully planned and well adhered to traffic management plan the project ran smoothly and was delivered, compliance tested to NBG standards, on time and within budget to a delighted client.
