Quintin Hogg Memorial Sportsground – Velocity Sports

Quintin Hogg Memorial Sportsground New Sports Hub for Westminster University

down

The summer of 2021 saw Velocity Sports Ltd, working in conjunction with Principal Contractor Claremont Refurbishment, deliver a world class sporting hub for the University of Westminster on the banks of the River Thames.

Working for the Quintin Hogg Trust which supports the education of students of the University through the provision of facilities for their recreation, the new development got underway in late 2020.

The project involved the delivery of two all-weather surfaces, one competition standard floodlit 3G football and rugby surface, tested and certified to World Rugby and FIFA standards and a smaller training pitch also suitable for full contact rugby and football.

Ancillary works in the form of team shelters, perimeter fencing, LED floodlighting, spectator areas, maintenance storage and a scrummage area were also delivered as part of the sizeable contract.

The pitch was officially opened for use in September 2021 to much acclaim from the end users and will provide an exceptional facility for the University and local sporting community for many years to come.
