Velocity recently undertook the refurbishment of the sand filled Astro at leading independent school Lord Wandsworth College.
This project involved the upgrading of an existing sand filled pitch to provide a high-quality sand dressed hockey led multi-sport surface.
The existing surfacing and perimeter fencing systems were carefully removed and disposed off site prior to the installation of new.
The existing macadam base had some drainage improvements undertaken prior to the installation of a new 3 & 4.5m high rigid mesh fencing system with double height Astro covered kickboards.
Finally, a new wet pour rubber shockpad and high-quality sand dressed monofilament surface was installed with permanent line marking for tennis and semi-permanent markings for small sided hockey.
The contract also included the installation of an all-weather cricket strip plus the creation of a new polymeric high jump fan and long jump facility.
