Over the late autumn and winter of 2023 Velocity constructed an outstanding new sports hub for Inspire Leisure in Suffolk.
A partnership between the University of Suffolk and leading youth charity, Inspire, has delivered new sports facilities including a 3G pitch, two grass pitches and floodlights, which are located at Inspire’s Ipswich site on Lindbergh Road.
The aim of the partnership is to increase access to high quality sport pitches and improve participation for both students at the university and the wider community and to support overall health and wellbeing opportunities in the town.
Working alongside respected local contractor Brooks & Wood Ltd who oversaw the project and delivered a car park, the project started in September and was handed over in January 2024.
The scheme, which was delivered on time and on budget, included the very latest LED floodlighting, robust high-level perimeter fencing as well as hard and soft landscaping.
The facility was successfully tested to FIFA standards upon completion and helped to transform an under used field into a new high-class sporting hub, much to the delight of the stakeholders and end users.
