Heybridge Swifts FC undertook a major development of their home ground at Scraley Road which included a brand new 3G pitch.
The Swifts, who play in the Isthmian League North Division had a well looked after grass pitch which didn’t suffer from the usual drainage problems, however their expanding youth section meant there just wasn’t enough capacity to cater for their increasing needs.
The club were spending significant amounts on external training space and so decided to upgrade to a 3G surface.
The project was delivered as a turnkey solution with Velocity providing a design and build service including undertaking initial surveys, developing the design, obtaining planning permission as well constructing and maintaining the new facility.
The new 3G pitch, complete with engineered base, SUDS compliant drainage system, extensive hardstanding surrounds and pitch perimeter barrier were part of a wider development of the club including upgrades to the bar and conferencing facilities.
Works were completed in 12 weeks and the club are delighted with the new facility, which has received much user acclaim.
