The summer of 2020 saw Velocity Sports Ltd create a superb new sports facility at Forest School in Winnersh which will be home to Reading Football Club’s Academy.
The £1.5m facility comprises of a new indoor 3G training surface, access road, car park and over 3 hectares of natural grass sports pitches.
The project, delivered in partnership with Reading FC’s Property company, sees the school benefit from use during the day and the football club’s academy using the facility during the evenings and at weekends.
The project was delivered as a direct replacement for the existing indoor facility at the Select Car Leasing Stadium (formerly the John Madejski Stadium).
Having worked with the client to satisfy the outstanding planning conditions the construction aspect of the project was given the green light just 1 day before the allotted permission expired, much to the relief of all stakeholders.
