Beaconsfield Town FC The Rams invest in the future!

down

The summer of 2021 saw Southern League side Beaconsfield Town FC invest in significant ground upgrades including a 3G pitch at Holloways Park.

The Rams, who play in Southern League Central Division, commissioned the project to cater for their expanding youth section and to facilitate more community usage at the club.

The project was delivered as a turnkey solution with Velocity providing a design and build service including undertaking initial surveys, developing the design, assisting to obtain planning permission, discharging the relevant conditions as well constructing and maintaining the new facility.

The scope of works included the full build of the new pitch, perimeter pathways, an upgrade to LED floodlighting, spectator barrier fencing as well as equipment provision for competition and training usage.

The site works were completed in 14 weeks and the field has now been certified to FIFA Quality standards.

The club’s managing director, Peter Bromage, said: “We wanted to create an identity for Beaconsfield as a football club, and with the development that is what we did.

Beaconsfield has not traditionally had a big attendance in terms of crowds, as we can have as little as 80 people, but sometimes with an away crowd, we can get up to 250/300 people.

“So, the issue we have is how can we get the local community to come along and watch us?
“A way of doing that is getting children to play at the club and get their parents to come along as well.
“But we need to have a product attractive enough to sell for people to come and watch us in the first place, now we have that.”
