Velocity Sports Ltd recently replaced the existing natural turf pitch at the Wardale Williams stadium with a FIFA 2* certified 3rd Generation artificial grass football pitch.
After years of planning the club took the decision to aim for an installation in the close season of 2015.
The project involved taking the scheme from conceptual design, through the planning process and finally onto a 9 week construction programme.
With the site located on a Zone 1 flood plain a SUDS compliant design was crucial to both the long term success of the pitch and in terms of a successful planning application.
Velocity were able to deliver on both and the new facility was delivered on time and on budget, much to the delight of the club and it’s players.
