Velocity Sports Ltd recently undertook the refurbishment of both full-size artificial pitches at the Brunel University Sports Park.
This prestigious project consisted of the replacement of the Universities existing sand-filled and 3G pitches.
Installed over 2 phases, the all-weather hockey pitch refurbishment works included removal and recycling of the existing surfacing and shockpad, the installation of a new 15mm wet pour rubber insitu shockpad and a specially selected sand dressed surface which is ideal for hockey led multi-use applications.
The 3G pitch also included the removal and recycling of the existing surfacing, new high level perimeter fencing, significant base remediation and drainage improvements plus the installation of a 12mm shockpad and 3rd Generation surface to meet FIFA and World Rugby standards.
Working direct for the University under the supervision of specialist consultants Notts Sports Ltd, Velocity were responsible for undertaking the entire refurbishment process and completed the project on time and within the allocated budget.
The upgraded sports park pitches were in full use in the summer of 2020 to the delight of the University and community users alike.
