Velocity Sports Ltd recently handed over a new state of the art 3G pitch at Alec Reed Academy, Northolt.
The scope of works was the removal and safe disposal of the old surface and underlying shockpad, plus the installation of a new 60mm FIFA certified 3rd Generation all weather playing surface.
Through careful workmanship, minimal damage was carried out to the 15 year old insitu shockpad during the surface removal. This resulted in being able to keep the pad rather than removing it, both saving money for the Academy and improving on the original programme.
The hardwearing GreenFields Slide Max 60mm surface was installed and the pitch is now on the FA pitch register, allowing the Academy to utilise the facility for competitive matches as well as external training for the benefit of the school and wider local community.

The school were understandably delighted with their new asset and the contract was carried out under budget and ahead of schedule.
In fact, the pitch was completed and handed over within 5 weeks of receiving the order, that’s efficiency for you!
