In spring 2018 Velocity carried out the re-construction of an existing 3G football pitch at St Neots Town FC.
This project involved the design and re-construction of a 9-year-old 3G pitch that had reached the end of its useful life.
The existing pitch, which was built on an unbound base, had numerous undulations across it and had failed its latest FA inspection.
The club tendered the project through Huntingdonshire District Council and Velocity were the successful bidders based on a combination of cost and the best technical submission.
Velocity were commissioned to remove the existing 3G surface, remove the underlying shingle base and grade and install a new an engineered macadam base.
A highly durable 60mm 3G was installed and infilled with kiln dried sand and specialist SBR infill, the field was then tested and certified to FA standards.
