Velocity Sports Ltd have recently undertaken the redevelopment of the sports facilities at Ruskin Drive, a well utilised sportsground in St Helens, home to Pilkington Recs RFC, Ruskin Tennis Club and St Helens Town FC.
The works, tendered through St Helens Council and managed by specialist consultants SSL commenced in early 2016 and included the re-construction of an existing 6 court tennis facility and the development of a new 3G surface suitable for football and professional standard Rugby League.
The project included the demolition of an old squash court and considerable site clearance with over 300 loads of crushed concrete and topsoil being recycled.
As well as the construction of a superb new 3G pitch and colour coated porous macadam tennis courts the works comprised of perimeter fencing, two floodlighting systems, sports equipment assembly and significant areas of soft and hard landscaping.
The scheme also included ground stabilisation and retaining features to showcase the full range of Velocity services.
The upgrade has resulted in a wonderful new facility which is the pride of the local sporting community.
